Bone cyst - Causes of bone cysts
NHS Choices Medical Reference
The cause of bone cysts is unknown.
A bone cyst may be discovered after an injury, such as a bad fall, but the injury will not have necessarily caused it.
Bone cysts may occur in people who have:
- rheumatoid arthritis
Gout can run in families and is caused by a build-up of a chemical called urate in the bloodstream.
- Chronic usually means a condition that continues for a long time or keeps coming back.
