Nicky Broyd is a writer and editor at WebMD UK, responsible for researching, reporting and editing health news stories and features.
She is based in Essex and has been a journalist for more than 30 years. Before making the move to online journalism with WebMD in 2008, she was a broadcast reporter and radio presenter.
She's covered national stories around the UK and Ireland, covered the Velvet Revolution in the former Czechoslovakia and followed Prince Charles on a visit to Hungary. Nicky reported on the first Gulf war from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Yemen and UAE. She has covered UK general elections as well as the election of Nelson Mandela to President of South Africa.
Nicky has written for the Guardian but most of her career has been in broadcast media as a reporter, producer and programme editor. She's worked for ITN, Independent Radio News (IRN) and was part of the Sony Gold award winning presentation team on BBC Radio 5Live’s Adrian Chiles Show.
Nicky has presented programmes on LBC, Viva!/Liberty, BBC Essex and Southend Radio (Radio Essex). She has also been the London correspondent for Radio 2UE in Sydney.
