Diagnosis & tests

Gestational diabetes screening & tests

If you're pregnant, you will be asked about your medical history and certain risk factors for gestational diabetes. If you are thought to be at risk you will be offered an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT).

The oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) measures the body's ability to use a type of sugar, called glucose, that is the body's main source of energy.
