Symptoms

The warning signs of diabetes can be so mild that you don't notice them. That's especially true of type 2 diabetes. With type 1 diabetes, the symptoms usually happen quickly, in a matter of days or a few weeks.

Here are the diabetes symptoms you should never ignore.

Polydipsia is the medical term for excessive thirst. It's common to feel thirsty at times but long-term thirst and having to drink a lot more water than usual could be a warning sign of health conditions, including diabetes.

Causes & risk factors

Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of risk factors: high blood pressure, high blood sugar, unhealthy cholesterol levels and belly fat.
