Memory loss, or amnesia, is when someone loses the ability to remember information or events they would normally recall. Some memory loss is normal with ageing or may be a result of anxiety, stress or depression. In some cases memory loss is a symptom of dementia. This usually happens gradually to people over 65, who struggle to recall recent events, but have little problem with long-term memory.
